SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors/選択的セロトニン再取り込み阻害薬)という薬は、鬱病を診断された際によく処方される薬です。
何種類もありますが、とりあえず５種類を表にまとめてみました。内容は、「www.drugs.com」のサイトを参考にまとめたものです。PDFで表示したかったのですが、PDFはリンクだけとなってしまいました。
SSRIは、何種類かありますが、それぞれ微妙に副作用などが違います。
SSRIを服用されている方、過去に服用した経験を持つ方は、周りに意外に何人もいます。
患者さんの中にも何人もいますが、長期で施設に入っている高齢者の方用の薬は、本当に必要なのか、効果は出ているのかを、定期的にエバリュエーションをすることが義務付けられています。当然と言えば当然のことなのですが…。
さて、これらの薬は、やはり副作用が気になります。副作用は、出ない人には全く出なかったり、出る人は苦しい思いをしたりします。
処方される際、効果が出るまでに1カ月くらいはかかるので、副作用が出ても頑張って、みたいな言い方をされる場合もあるかと思います。でも、私が研修を受けた精神科病棟では、2週間くらい副作用に悩まされたら、他の薬に替えてみるという方針でした。そんな苦しい思いをする必要はない、という感じで。そして、変更された薬で全く副作用が出なかったりします。
下記の表でもわかる通り、副作用の幅が広い薬はその分、単純に確率的にも、副作用が出やすいです。
一か月しないと効き目が表れない、という言葉を信じて、ずっと副作用に苦しむ必要は無いと思うので、その前に主治医の先生に相談されることをお勧めします。

Some young people have thoughts about suicide when first taking an antidepressant. Your doctor should check your progress at regular visits. Your family or other caregivers should also be alert to changes in your mood or symptoms.
